Project Description & Abstract
Pathology Lab Management System (PLMS) is a digital healthcare management application designed to automate and simplify the day-to-day operations of pathology laboratories. The system replaces traditional paper-based processes with centralized digital record management, making patient registration, test booking, sample processing, report generation, and record retrieval faster and more efficient. The system allows patients to search for nearby hospitals or pathology laboratories, view available diagnostic tests, compare test prices, and book appointments. Lab staff can manage patient information, appointments, test details, sample records, and medical reports through a centralized system. Each patient, receptionist, and phlebotomist can have a unique login and identification, providing controlled access to the appropriate features. After a diagnostic test is completed, the laboratory can upload the patient's test results so that the patient can securely access and download the report online without needing to collect a physical copy. The system maintains important information such as patient details, medical history, appointment schedules, laboratory tests, staff information, test reports, invoices, and facility availability. Centralized database management helps maintain data consistency, reduce duplicate records, minimize manual errors, and improve the overall efficiency of laboratory operations. The application is designed to support pathology laboratories in processing more patients and samples while improving record management and service delivery. By providing digital access to reports and laboratory information, the system also improves convenience for patients and healthcare staff.
